Employee Spotlight – Jose Cabrera

Meet Jose Cabrera, Continuous Improvement Manager at Hyper
For Jose Cabrera, continuous improvement is not about simply identifying what could be better. It is about taking ownership of what happens next.
That mindset began taking shape long before he joined Hyper. Jose’s manufacturing journey started while he was still in school, working alongside his father in the metal fabrication industry. His father was both his role model and his first introduction to the kind of hands-on problem-solving that would eventually define his career.
Jose later earned a degree in Industrial Engineering and continued building his experience across several manufacturing industries, including medical devices, electrical products, and water treatment systems.\
His path to Hyper began through a former leader and mentor, who first introduced him to the company. “Once I experienced Hyper, I quickly realized the opportunity and potential that existed here.”
Now, after recently celebrating his first year with the company, Jose serves as Continuous Improvement Manager, bringing together his technical background, hands-on manufacturing experience, and belief that progress depends on action.
Built Close to the Work
Jose’s approach to manufacturing has always been grounded in understanding how the work is actually done. That foundation has remained relevant throughout his career, even as the industries, products, and technologies around him have changed.
“I’ve always been fascinated by technology and innovation. I naturally enjoy learning new things and adapting quickly.”\
The continued advancement of technologies like artificial intelligence has strengthened his interest in becoming part of an industry helping shape what comes next. Hyper gave him that opportunity to apply what he had learned throughout his career while continuing to expand his knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
One of Jose’s most rewarding experiences has been collaborating with professionals around the world to design and develop manufacturing processes for Hyper’s production facilities.
“Seeing those efforts contribute to the company’s success is incredibly fulfilling.”
If You See Something, Do Something
Since joining Hyper, Jose has developed a different understanding of what ownership looks like in practice.
“Many organizations teach the mindset of, ‘If you see something, say something.’ At Hyper, I’ve learned a different approach: ‘If you see something, do something.’”
That distinction has strengthened his leadership style and encouraged him to take greater initiative. When he sees an opportunity to improve a process, solve a problem, or support a team, he has the ability and responsibility to make it happen. That action-oriented mindset has been especially important while developing production facilities for new products under aggressive customer timelines. The challenge is not simply designing the ideal process. It is creating something practical, aligning the people responsible for carrying it forward, and keeping execution moving while the product itself continues to evolve.
“The key to overcoming those challenges has been teamwork. By creating a clear plan, aligning the team, and staying focused on execution, we’ve consistently been able to achieve our goals.”
Making Complexity Buildable
Some of Jose’s most important work happens at the point where a complex idea needs to become something a team can consistently execute. Hyper has given him the opportunity to contribute to the development and launch of important new products, expanding his technical knowledge while exposing him to challenges that do not always have an established solution.
“One of the most impactful lessons I’ve learned is how to take something complex and communicate it in a simple, practical way so others can successfully build and execute it.”
That ability has become an important part of how Jose supports teams and partners. That trust has also led to opportunities to lead Rapid Response Calls involving multiple partners and critical products. These situations require quick decisions, clear communication, and accountability across several teams. For Jose, being trusted with that responsibility has been one of the moments that made him feel especially valued at Hyper.
Putting the Pillars into Practice
Jose lives Hyper’s pillars through action: relying on facts, keeping quality at the center of difficult decisions, and refusing to wait for the perfect conditions before moving the work forward. Whether he is responding to a product issue, developing a manufacturing process, or helping a team understand a complicated challenge, his approach remains consistent: verify the facts, create a plan, and execute.
Do the Right Thing, Always.
“During a critical product quality issue, we faced a difficult decision that ultimately required delaying production. The choice came down to either risking a recall or doing what was right for our customers and the company. The decision was clear—we chose quality and integrity.”
Be S.M.A.R.T., Move Fast, Build Things.
“During the development of a critical product, we lacked visibility into the root causes affecting performance. Instead of waiting, we traveled to the manufacturing site and conducted a Root Cause Analysis event. That hands-on approach allowed us to identify the issues, create a clear action plan, and significantly improve the situation.”
Limits Are for Others!
“I believe almost anything is possible when you’re willing to propose ideas and take action. Execution is what turns possibilities into results. As I like to say: just do it.”
Growing Through Trust
The culture, people, and trust at Hyper are what Jose enjoys most about his work. Together, they create an environment that feels less like a collection of individual responsibilities and more like a shared mission. That sense of direction helps him remain focused, even when the pace is demanding or the challenge is unfamiliar.
“Understanding where you’re going is the key to everything. Having a clear vision of the company’s goals keeps me focused and motivated. My objective is simple: make Hyper grow.”
Jose believes Hyper’s leadership and clearly communicated vision allow employees throughout the organization to understand how their work contributes to the bigger picture. It is also what makes Hyper such a valuable environment for people who are willing to learn. “If you enjoy challenges, this is the place for you. Opportunities to learn in a fast-paced environment don’t come around often. Hyper provides an incredible playground for growth, and there’s no better time to get started than now.”
Creating Beyond the Process
Outside of work, Jose enjoys staying active, spending time outdoors, and creating memorable experiences with his family. He enjoys being open to the experiences that come from stepping outside of a carefully planned schedule. Still, organization remains an important part of how he balances his responsibilities.
“Planning is everything. Having a structured day allows me to balance work, personal goals, and family time. I love feeling productive, and there’s a real sense of satisfaction in accomplishing the goals I’ve set for myself each day.”
Music has also remained an important creative outlet. Jose plays guitar, has written several songs, and previously performed in bands. His interest in creating extends into photography and video as well. He has even explored one ambition that may surprise some of his coworkers: becoming an influencer. At one point, Jose operated a YouTube channel that generated approximately 500,000 views!
Turning Possibility Into Progress
Jose’s impact at Hyper comes from the connection he creates between ideas and execution. His experience began on the manufacturing floor, learning directly from his father and developing a respect for the skill, discipline, and precision required to build something well. That foundation has carried into a career focused on improving how products, processes, and teams work together.
He has helped develop production operations, respond to critical product challenges, simplify complex technical information, and create clearer paths from concept to execution. What stands out is not simply his ability to recognize an opportunity for improvement, but also his willingness to take responsibility for moving it forward. Jose believes almost anything becomes possible when people are willing to propose an idea, support it with facts, and act on it.
And while he has already developed a career around creating change, there is one skill he would still choose to master instantly: the ability to inspire change, connect with people, and create a positive impact in their lives. In many ways, that is already the direction behind his work. Improvement is not complete when a problem has been identified or a new process has been designed. It becomes meaningful when people can understand it, build it, and use it to create a better result.
